Police spokesperson, Constable Matome Tlamela said the driver and his
crew were stopped by the officers who ordered them to get out of the
truck.
"The driver was ordered to produce a driver's licence
and instructed to get into a white Toyota Corolla that was parked next
to the road. The victims were dropped off at Irene Mall, Centurion where
they managed to call their office for assistance," said Tlamela.
The truck loaded with laptops was recovered in Putfontein, Benoni and the suspects were arrested later that day.
"The arrested suspects, some of whom were police officers, will appear
in court facing charges of truck hijacking," said Tlamela.
